Strobe lights will not die out in the following years

Strobe lights are still used in some applications though the light emitting diode has become more popular lately. They are mostly used in warning signals for tall structures to prevent passing aircraft from colliding with them. Though it is a dying breed still some manufacturers produce them with improved performance.

The high intensity light that keeps on flashing throughout the night in tall towers to enable the pilots to avoid collision with them is emitted by strobe lights which have become a dying breed due to the invasion of the market by the more energy efficient light emitting diode. This is a type of xenon light that is able to discharge high intensity. The duration of the flash is very short amounting to a few milliseconds.

The strobe light is the one replace the rotating light in most applications. You can see a flashing strobe light from miles away. Tall towers have them to warn the aircraft on their presence while aircrafts too have them in their wings for any other aircraft in the area to notice its presence. As it uses a halogen light it could give light of very high intensity

Invented In 1931 by Harold Eugene this flashing light came to be extensively used in the clubs to flash in unison with rhythms of music. Later it replaced the revolving lights on the fire engines and such emergency services. Strobe light uses a lot of energy and the filaments are getting heated to very high temperatures. Due to this reason they should not be meddled with, if you are not experienced on the subject. Even when it is not in operation the covers should not be removed as they could explode due to the high energy stored in them.

Though the strobe light are on the way out giving way for the light emitting diode that is cheaper to maintain and uses little energy still there are places it is preferred. It will be in use for many years to come. Even though much emphasis is focused on the LED improvements are being done to the strobe lights too. Still many manufacturers produce strobe lights as vehicle accessories. It is a good idea to carry one of these in your vehicle. In case of a breakdown occurring on the highway you have the option to warn the other road users of the situation and prevent a possible accident. Though the vehicle has its waning lights these lights could be seen from a distance unlike the vehicle’s own warning lights.
