Survey finds flexible working is more popular than ever
As one of the UK’s leading virtual office services providers, Messagemail (http://www.messagemail.co.uk) knows a thing or to about flexible working, primarily that it’s the way of the future. Now, a survey has confirmed this, finding that flexible working is more popular than ever.
Flexible working can mean many things. For some it’s the opportunity to work remotely, from home, from multiple branches or offices within their companies or even job sharing. For others it’s taking advantage of a virtual office space or phone answering service like those offered by Messagemail. Regardless of the type of flexible working chosen, the freedom that it offers has proven highly popular in Great Britain, as one recently published survey proves.
The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) / Harvey Nash Employment Trends Survey was carried out between March and April 2011 and detailed the responses of 335 senior executives representing UK organisations from a wide spectrum of sectors, employing a total of nearly 3.5 million people. Findings reveal an increase in flexible working practices in the UK over the last few years. Flexible teleworking experienced the greatest increase in popularity between 2006 and 2011, according to the study, which also found that while most employers offer one form of flexible working, many offer three or even more flexible options. It was discovered that in the public sector nearly all employers offer three or more types, but only two-thirds of employers in the private sector provided this level of flexibility.
In an increasingly fast-paced technological age, one where people can work from their smartphones, tablets and laptops, flexible working is easier than ever. But factor in the global economic crisis, with companies looking for more nimble ways to operate, and a more flexible, virtual way of working becomes a must. Messagemail helps businesses up and down the UK harness the benefits of flexible working through their range of virtual office services. To learn more, go to http://www.messagemail.co.uk.
