It’s a law of nature, as dependable as gravity here on earth: when it rains, my feet will be unprepared, donned in stilettos, flats, flip-flops …whatever it is, they won’t be rain boots. But perhaps that isn’t because I don’t remember to wear them; it’s because I haven’t found a boot I loved enough to buy.

Some are too trendy, with ridiculous patterns that I know I’ll outgrow in a year. Some are too simple; a simple rubber shell does not stylish footwear make. How hard is it to make a boot that works but doesn’t make me look like I was born and raised on an outdoor adventure trip?

The Moov Culture website sells Moov Boots, rubber shelled boots lined with Australian Merino wool. online movies The footwear is meant to outshine the popular Ugg boots because not only are they water resistant, but they also offer the same warmth and comfort that the Ugg boot is meant to. The wool is unique because it is left in as natural a state as possible, making it “soft and silky to touch (so it) glides onto your foot and stays warm for you in the coldest of climates.”

The makers of Moov Boots, based in Austraila, were smart; they thought ahead and realized that while a wooly inside is comfortable, should the boots actually face the wear and tear of a thunderous spring or fall rainstorm, the wool will get wet. Therefore, the boots have a removable innersole and are easily cleaned.

Unfortunately, the company does not have any stores in the United States, so while shopping online is fun and less hassled than driving out to a boutique, the downside is that sizing variations can never really be entirely cleared up online. Luckily, Moov Boots offers a one-time exchange policy to customers in the U.S. at no extra cost. However, the company charges shipping for returns (both exchange and return must be made within 30-day periods).

Moov Boots, priced from about $150 to just under $400 and shipped to countries all over the world and the U.S. within a week, come in a variety of lengths – ankle, mid-calf and tall – as well as a number of colors, ranging from gunmetal gray to blood orange. The styles are utilitarian, for those who intend to go spelunking, and trendy, for those navigating the urban landscape.
