Toyota Etios Liva – Perfect city commuter
Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched their first small car Toyota Etios Liva in India on 27th June, 2011. With the small car segment booming, Toyota decided to enter this mass segment in order to appeal to wider customer base. Etios series or the Q class (as Toyota promotes) have been able to touch the one lakh sales mark recently which showcases the decent success of these cars. Toyota is known to manufacture top quality highly finished products and the reliability factor is still kept intact with Etios Liva though there are some quality issues in the Etios family.
Toyota Etios Liva boasts of charming exteriors with smiling chromed front grill, clear headlamps, compact styling and large air dams depicting the sporty nature of this small machine. Front of both sedan and hatch is similar but there is slight difference in the rear part. Etios Liva carries a smart rear spoiler, big tail lamps, chrome slat and rear wiper which all accentuate the beautiful aerodynamic design of the Japanese car.
Liva cabin has live up to its expectation and is designed with contemporariness in mind. Nice spacious interiors with comfortable trendy seats make going out in Liva a pleasurable experience. The five door five seater Etios Liva has segment’s best rear seats with extended squabs which ensures that you are not drained out after long journeys. An acceptable boot space of 251 litres is also presented in the enchanting Etios Liva.
First available only in petrol version, Toyota Etios Liva is now also offered in the diesel option. A 1197 cc, 4-Cylinder DOHC petrol engine churns out top power of 80 bhp at 5600 rpm and peak torque of 104 Nm at 3100 rpm. Whereas the 1364 cc diesel engine belts out max power of 68 bhp and max torque of 170 Nm at 1800 – 2400 rpm. Both the powermills are mated to five speed manual gearbox. Petrol Liva returns with overall mileage of around 16 – 18 kmpl while the diesel one gives 20 – 23 kmpl of overall fuel efficiency.
Tempting Toyota Etios Liva is also embraced with plenty of comfort and convenient features which include AC with clean air filter, Electric power steering with controls mounted, cooled glove box, flat type rear floor, powerful 2 DIN DVD audio system, trunk space of 251 litres, Front cabin lights, Power windows, remote central locking, sporty front headrest, cushioning kind of rear headrest, remote fuel lid opener, foldable rear seats, rear wiper, rear defogger and remote boot opener.
The Japanese hatchback is up for grabs for a price range of Rs 4.09 lakh – Rs 6.15 lakh (Ex-showroom New Delhi).
