Swimming pool tiles ordered for Dundee Leisure Centre
The swimming pool tiles for Dundee Leisure Centre started arriving in March 2012 and it all started with a meeting at Dundee council offices, 2 years earlier, in January 2010
The local council had a need for a wide range of different tiles for the competition swimming pool, leisure pool, diving area, showers, WCs and all the communal areas in the building.
The order for these pool tiles consisted of:
2700 sq metres + 550 linear metres of tiles and special pieces from Gail in Germany who have already supplied to most of the Olympic swimming pools in UK and Europe.
3250 sq metres and 820 linear metres of tiles and skirting from Casalgrande Padanaone, one of Italy’s best porcelain manufacturers and makers of the Unicolor range of glazed wall tiles.
1500 sq metres of Marmox waterproof insulation board .
300 linear metres for the Quadrant pool grating system which is normally custom made for all pools .
Despite extreme competition for this valuable order, Ceramique Internationale Ltd were awarded it as they were the only company capable of providing the correct technical answers and products information about swimming pool tiles to satisfy all the architect’s specification requirements.
One of Ceramique Internationale’s directors, Cameron Fraser said: “It was product installation know how and years of practical experience that clinched it for us.”
