Renault Duster SUV, a complete package at an aggressive price

Renault India has kept its fingers crossed as the launch of its first volume puller SUV, is slated just after one day on July 4th, 2012.The SUV was launched in the United Kingdom, on June 28th, 2012 before the launch in the domestic market. However, the bookings for the SUV began few days ago the India launch and Renault dealers have received bookings of 1000 units at a token amount of Rs 51,000. The response has been fine in the form of pre bookings; the company anticipates more such surprises after the launch. Renault Duster is nearly 4.3 meter long and this is the first compact SUV being offered by an international auto maker, which will be a part of the domestic market soon.

Renault is targeting at youth with Duster SUV, the youth of India has a different strategy and likings when it comes to cars. Their interest has shifted from a low budget hatchback or sedan to a vehicle that is stylish and at the same time offers good amount of space to accommodate the entire family comfortably. SUVs are also a perfect choice for long drives, long journeys, off roading etc, therefore these are gaining popularity amongst the youth rapidly.

EcoSPort is likely to be launched in India in 2013 Q1, while Mahindra Mini Xylo is a long awaited model which could finally be rolled out during Diwali. Ford Ecosport is rumoured to be priced at Rs 9 lakhs, while Mahindra Mini Xylo is likely to come with a price tag of Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 6 lakhs. A SUV at Rs 7 lakh is a very feasible option for the Indian buyers and many of them would prefer it over a sedan.

Renault too is marketing as an alternative over sedan. Renault India has advanced the launch date of Duster which could be a well move from the company to take advantage by launching it before EcoSport, Mini Xylo and Maruti XA Alpha. Mr Rajiv Mitra, Renault India Spokesperson, stated that Renault Duster is the most affordable product from Renault in India. The major selling point of this SUV is going to be its lucrative price tag, the company has made sure that this SUV appeals to the youth along with the middle class buyers, therefore the pricing has been done accordingly.

The high end variant will have dual airbags, leather upholstery, 16-inch alloy wheels and ABS with brake assist.Stephen Norman, the Senior Vice-President, Global marketing and Communications, Stephen Norman, is very confident about the launch of Duster SUV in India. He stated that a SUV is a complete package for the customers with amazing looks, powerful performance, rugged appearance, advanced features etc at such a low price that customer would be awed by the SUV. Renault Duster is made suiting the conditions of Indian roads, therefore it would be a great fun to drive in all types of surface.
