Like all other hill stations, Mussoorie does not have a prosperous past. It was the capital of the state during the summer British Raj but the charm of Mussoorie lies elsewhere. The city has become famous after one of the daring British army officers visited this place in the year 1827 with Mr. Costa, the Superintendent of Dehradun. It is said that every afternoon a cannon was fired from here to help the local people to know the time.

Mussoorie Lake
This is another famous attraction of this popular hill station which remains crowded through out the year. This is a lovely picnic spot is famous for ample opportunities for sports lover with boating facilities available in these lakes at a very nominal cost. While sailing on the lake tourists can also enjoy the picturesque views of Doon Valley and neighboring villages.
