Prdaxa Side Effects Send Manufacturer Expecting Pradaxa Bleeding Lawsuit

A patient advocacy group is alerting Pradaxa users who have developed internal bleeding after taking the medicating with the drug. The alert states that a federal court decision next month might come to improve plaintiffs of Pradaxa bleeding lawsuit access to the courts and consequently speed up the legal process.

Prescribed to patients with atrial fibrillation Pradaxa is an anticoagulant medication used to prevent strokes. On Paril 24, 2012, a Wall Street Journal report revealed that the drug has already reached the $1 billion banner sales mark for the fiscal year ending in February.
Sadly, some reports have pinpointed the risks with the drug. On December 7, 2011 the FDA warned that it investigating the safety of Pradaxa following the receipt of reports of higher than expected injury or death resulting from Pradaxa use. Recently, on June 6, 2012, the Institute for Safe Medication Practices released a report stating that Pradaxa led all other medications in 2011 in the number of death and bleeding reports received by the FDA.
Due to the expected surge in the number of Pradaxa bleeding lawsuit expected over bleeding injury or death, there was a motion to consolidate the cases into one central federal court. The motion was recently filed on May 30, 2012 in Case MDL No. 2385 IN RE: Pradaxa Product Liability Litigation, Southern District of Illinois. Thus, the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPML) said that the issue would be decided on July 26, 2012.
Some consumer advocacy group thinks that the consolidation of Pradaxa lawsuits into a single court proceeding will expedite the litigation process and help plaintiffs exchange invaluable evidence. Nonetheless, only certain lawyers can help in consideration to the specialized nature of such federal MDL cases.
