The diesel engine will be re-tuned to deliver a better fuel efficiency. The rear bumpers will be redesigned, presence of new bumpers implies that the new Ritz will apparently be longer by around 60m and the total length will be less than four meters at 3.775 meters.

Hatchback’s length which will remain under four meter means that the hatchback will continue to enjoy the scanty excise duty levied on less than four meters vehicles. The hatchback will also be seen in a new colour option which is the Blue metallic shade. Inside the car, the Ritz will get numerous fabrics for the seat and door claddings.

A new addition in the 2012 Maruti Ritz is the presence of airbags and ABS along with EBD available only on select variants. These safety features will come as optional features on select variants. The upgraded Maruti Ritz hatchback is expected to be launched in Indian car market in the coming few months, the Maruti dealers are doling out lucrative discounts on the diesel version of the hatchback for last few weeks. The facelifted version of Ritz is expected to be better than the outgoing version. However, the UK bound Ritz which is known as Suzuki Splash is sold at the same price at which the outgoing model was being sold.
