School projects may offer opportunities for workers on electrical courses

Engineers on electrical courses may find new employment opportunities in construction, after Interserve was awarded a £42 million contract to build at three schools.

The arrangement involves a series of improvements and extensions in Leeds, Nottinghamshire and Coventry, with the company’s chief executive Adrian Ringrose claiming the firm was chosen due to its expertise in managing a budget.

However, when it comes to the construction work itself, Mr Ringrose and his team will no doubt need the services of technicians who have completed electrical courses.

He added: “It is very rewarding to be responsible for delivering projects such as these that will benefit not just the pupils themselves but also many members of the local community.”

Among the facilities that will be built are a hydrotherapy pool, administrative space and a reception area.

Last week, the company highlighted how its subsidiary Landmarc Support Services was handed the judges’ special recognition award at the recent British Institute of Facilities Management Awards ceremony.
