Goa is the smallest state of India, situated along the western part of India in the Konkan region. Of ‘Estado da India Portuguesa’, the Portuguese colonies in India, Goa was the largest territory.Post Indian Independence, Goa was annexed to India through Operation Vijay in 1961, along with Daman & Diu. Goa remained a Union Territory up to 1987 until it became the 25thstate of India.
