Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry Review
Well first let me tell you a little about myself, i am a 36 years young single woman from Atlanta, Georgia and i count myself a very lucky person.
When i was 15 i was a typical outgoing and people said pretty girl with no real worries, but that all changed when i was involved in a horrific car accident with my then boyfriend and some school friends. Luckily no one died but bones many were broken. My injuries were sustained mostly to my face as i was not wearing a seatbelt and was in the passenger side.
Although my scars faded with time, i was left with severely damaged teeth which was devastating to my confidence. I was ashamed to laugh in case i smiled and if i did smile my hand would automatically cover my mouth. I had dentists work on my mouth but as i got older the costs literally got unrealistic and i resided to the fact i would not ever have that smile i needed to get rid of this low self esteem. I was still the same looks wise, pretty but feeling so self conscious about my damaged teeth and horrible smile my personality changed and i became more withdrawn. My family noticed and my relationships suffered which followed me through university and into my professional life. I found myself declining invitations from friends to go out for a meal or drinks and i would prefer to go home on my lunch break instead of with the girls at dinner for the usual gossip. But you know what really made me decide to check out alternate options to my problem…my niece and nephew who came at Christmas for the annual family get together and while i am comfortable around my loved ones who have always been there. The thing that gave me the kick start was those little faces asking Auntie Chrissie don’t you like Christmas, a bit shocked i answered of course i do i love it and they replied well why do you never smile!
From those words from such little children i knew i had to do something and i spent that very night glued to my lap-top searching the web for solutions to my life long problem.
And believe me there are literally millions. I knew what i needed i had all of my doctors recommendations and x-rays along with all of the countless “not covered” policies of insurance companies spilling out of my neatly “filed” top draw.
Then as i was slowly giving up i came across DENTAL TOURISM which basically meant travelling abroad (anywhere really) and receiving my much needed work completed by a foreign doctor. This was a new idea altogether and i wondered if i could travel alone and meet so many new people and have major work done with my confidence i was not so sure , so i left this idea for a few weeks and carried on as normal.
When speaking with my sister who was arranging her family vacation to Cancun i mentioned what i had been investigating about traveling abroad to have my dental work done by a foreign doctor and she was shocked because she knew how shy i was and she had not realized such an industry existed. I went and showed her the sites and she suggested i look at Cancun as she was going there with her husband and kids.
I did and there were several options showing clean clinics sun kissed Beach’s and many pictures of smiles- Where to look, so i filled an online form out and listed what i was interested in and when i was i thinking of going. Later that same day i was contacted by telephone from a perfect English spoken voice asking if i was Chrissie and if i had filled out details requesting information about dentists in Cancun. I was surprised at how promptly i was contacted and was given the details of the clinic that was contacting me.
Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry was the clinic and I found myself pouring my entire story of the accident and my confidence being so low …everything and the person at the end of the phone was so understanding. Do not worry Chrissie i was told you are not the only person to be in this type of situation we see many many people like yourself who are scared and shy and who are just not in a financial situation to afford major Dental work back home. They asked me to forward my x-rays and previous quotes which i did.
And within 24 hours i received a full email with the clinics history the location the doctors credentials, previous before and afters video testimonials as well as the Doctors opinion.
All of this within 24 hours, back home i would have had to wait 2 weeks and pay for the privilege. I sat back down with my sister and explained about the clinic Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry and all the information and especially the prices…..nearly 65% cheaper than even the lowest quotes from back home. She explained that i should travel with her and the family while they have their vacation i can go and check out the clinic and at least i would not be alone if i decided not to go ahead with anything. I can say i was a little more than apprehensive but quietly excited with the far of thought of smiling in public.
So i contacted the Clinic to place a consultation….Which i found out was free of charge and so where any other x-rays i may need.
The big day arrived and we were all in beautiful Cancun the Kids loved the pools and beach and my sister and her husband had a baby sitter free of charge so it was working out beautifully, I was contacted to confirm my appointment for 12 that day and that they were waiting for me. My sister came with me for support and off we went and what can i say i was more than impressed with the Staff who welcomed me and my sister, i was greeted and spoke to in English taken to a cubicle which my sister came with me. She helped me fill out the forms because i was still so nervous and we waited and in came my Doctor….or as i call him now my Knight in shining armour. He introduced himself and sat with me and listened to my story which i went over in detail again with my sister adding things i was purposely leaving out. And after half an hour he said he was going to help me and the funny thing was i really really believed him.
I will not go into the entire gory details of my treatments but i ended up spending many hours inside Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry sitting in that chair, which i am sure still has my butt print in. And here for the first time i was relaxed, people knew why i was there i even met a man from Texas who had more problems than me but he was a loud and proud Texan so you would never have noticed his dented confidence like mine. The staff quickly became friends and the Doctor…well the Doctor became my hero, i know it is a team effort and everyone helped but he was my special hero and if i told you i cried when he finally gave me the mirror to see my new smile it would be an understatement. And my sister my sister was as bad as me if not worse she cried and hugged me as she said she could not remember the last time she saw me smile. But my biggest fans were my niece and nephew who were the reasons i went through this.
I would never have thought i could have had my life transformed in such a way but through the support of my family and the AMAZING staff at Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry i now have a new life, my confidence is slowly returning i am going out more and eating with the girls at work and gossiping is my favorite part of the day. Next on my list is a boyfriend but i am being picky now which is something i would never be ;)
