Explore “God’s Own County” with one of our caravans
Anyone who reads this news page regularly will know about some of the benefits of caravan holidays, and more specifically, used touring caravans from Albion Caravans (http://www.albioncaravans.co.uk). However, being based in Bradford and serving a much wider area of Yorkshire, including Leeds, Halifax, Huddersfield, York and all manner of outlying towns and villages, we couldn’t neglect to tell you about some of the great things going on for caravan owners right here in the local area.
Whether you live in the Yorkshire area yourself or somewhere much further afield, you’ll probably be familiar with some of the complimentary names that the region has attracted – such as “The Garden of England” and “God’s Own County” – and with the area being dotted with caravan sites, owners of used caravans Yorkshire have the perfect opportunity to discover exactly why. The region combines the finest attractions and things to do with the warmest northern hospitality, and of course, it’s also a very affordable destination – as if caravanning wasn’t gentle on the wallet already!
So, where to start? Well, why not in the very north of the region, where you’ll find the North York Moors National Park and destinations such as Richmond and Scarborough? The former is an inviting historic town on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales that offers narrow streets and a cobbled market square, while the seaside town of Scarborough doesn’t exactly lack in history itself, having been welcoming visitors for centuries. Attractions here include Brunswick shopping centre and the former medieval Royal fortress, Scarborough Castle.
However, there are so many more places to visit in Yorkshire for the owners of cheap used caravans, such as the seaside resort of Bridlington in the East Riding of Yorkshire, where you’ll find sandy beaches ideal for a family holiday. You’ll find plenty more attractions throughout the more minor towns and villages of the region, including the Halifax Piece Hall, Dewsbury Museum and Salts Mill & 1853 Gallery in Saltaire in West Yorkshire. The latter is a Grade II Listed historic mill building that consists of four art galleries with more than 400 works by David Hockney.
And not forgetting some of the major cities of the region, such as Leeds and York. All that owners of second hand caravans really need to do is find an appropriate nearby caravan site before driving into the city to sample the best of the local nightlife and restaurants. From historic attractions such as York Minster and Kirkstall Abbey to major shopping areas and sports stadiums, these cities give you yet more reasons to explore this beautiful – and bountiful – region.
