Surgimesh – very easy to use
Surgimesh is a surgical implant that is used for treating hernia. A person is said to suffer from hernia if one organ invades the neighboring area where it should not be. The most common form of hernia is the inguinal hernia.
In the case of inguinal hernia the organs found in the abdomen protrudes into the groin region, the result of which the patient will start to feel a lump in the groin region. The lump may or may not be accompanied by pain. Most cases of this kind of hernia will need surgical intervention to cure the patient.
Before, the surgeons used to pull the surrounding tissue together to hold the protruding organ in place. This method meant that the patient had to suffer a huge amount of pain after the operation. It also meant that the patient needed more time to recover from the surgery.
Today however a new method is used. In this method a surgical implant commonly known as the mesh is placed in during the operation. This mesh holds the protruding organ in place and allows quick healing to take place. By placing the mesh the surgeon minimizes the patient’s recovery time as well as the amount of pain the patient feels after the operation. This means that the patient can be active after short period of time and will have minimum number of restrictions place if any.
SURGIMESH is manufactured by a French company known as Aspide Medicals. The company was set up in the year 1994. It collaborated with surgeons in order to make this mesh.
There are three types of SURGIMESH used for treating hernia. They are SURGIMESH WN, XB, and EASY PLUG PATCH SYSTEM.
