What are 5.1 Surround Speaker Systems?
A 5.1 Surround Speaker System is the common name for a six channel multiaudio producing sound system. One whole system consists of six consoles – 5 plus 1- thus the name. These sound systems are used very often by both commercial and personal uses. It is known as the standard type of sound producing systems, being used in theatres and cinemas for sound production to a mass audience. Installation
So, lets just assume you have got your 5.1 Surround Speaker Systems already. Now you are eager to get your hands on it to start using it. But… you are clueless on how to connect them to your television set or your computer. No worries, because I will be listing step by step instruction on how to use them.

First of all, connect the cable from the back of each speaker to the respective audio output jack on the back of the subwoofer. For example, the center speaker connects to the center-channel audio output. Connect all five speakers: left front, center, right front, left rear and right rear.
Done with that?

Now you should continue by connecting the subwoofer cable’s mini-plug to the 3.5mm jack on the Y-adapter.

After that, insert the white (left) and red (right) plugs on one end of the RCA stereo cable into the respective jacks on the Y-adapter.

Nearing the end… now insert the white and red plugs on the other end of the cable into the matching audio output jacks on the TV. You should be able to identify the correct audio output jacks by looking at the colours.

And finally, plug in the electrical cords for the subwoofer and TV. Then, of course, turn on your tv and start experiencing awesome surround right in the comfort of your home!
