The rules of youth ministry games
When you are having your youth ministry students participate in activities and games you have to have a set of rules that applies to everybody who is participating in the activities and games that you have planned for your youth ministry. Keep the following tips in mind when you are overseeing your students play activities and games that you have planned out for them. By keeping the following tips in mind you are ensuring that everybody has a fun time together and that everybody is being respected.
The first rule to any activity or game that you have for your youth ministry students, is that everybody who participates must be respectful of everybody involved including you the leader. When you make sure that everybody involved in the games and activities that you have planned for youth ministry shows each other respect, everybody is able to relax to a certain extent and have more fun. The way that you make sure that everybody has respect and in turn shows that respect is by nipping in the bud any unruly behavior that some of your students may have toward each other and also you. What a student of yours lashes out at another student in some way whether it be verbal or physical you have to put a stop to it immediately by calling out the student and addressing them by their first name. You have to take control of the situation so that everybody knows that you as the youth ministry leader are in charge of what is going on, and that you will not stand for any disrespect or disrespectful behavior from anybody participating in the activities that you have planned for them.
Another rule to keep in mind when your youth ministry students are participating in games and activities that you have planned for them is to make sure that everybody has an equal say in what is going on. Encourage your students to speak up and voice their opinions about any games and activities that you have planned for them. Your youth ministry students are very bright and there will be times when they have great ideas to share with everybody that can improve the activities and games that you have your youth ministry students participating in. When you encourage your students to voice their opinions and give you ideas on how games and activities can be improved is not only will be able to create better games and activities, but you’ll also be raising the level of their participation because they will feel that they actually have a meaningful say in how the youth ministry works.
A rule for any youth ministry leader is to be a constant cheerleader and also a huge source of encouragement for every single one of your students. When you as a youth ministry leader encourage your students there will be much more likely to feel that their participation in the activities and games they have planned for them is meaningful. Being a source of encouragement for your youth ministry students while they are participating in games and activities will not only raise their level of participation but will also raise their level of respect they have for you.
