How To Get Rid Of Windows 7 Hanging Issue And Have A Fast Running Computer

The newest Microsoft Operating system, Windows 7 is not without its faults.  The most common of these faults being the fact that it hangs and becomes unresponsive causing its users to become very frustrated. The hanging is known to happen on a random basis, sometimes during start up and sometimes during shutdown or when you are working in a program, and the mouse and keyboard also stop responding.

You can check that the hardware you are using meets the system requirements of Window 7, it may be necessary to get a hardware update before being able to successfully run the operating system.  It may also be necessary to get additional driver updates if you notice that the hang up is happening while you are carrying out a specific operation.

It may be necessary to obtain a registry cleaner, this is specialized software that thoroughly scans and fixes any errors it finds and also deletes any invalid entries that are in the registry. It also gets rid of any corrupt files it finds in the memory. It has been discovered that there are a lot of registry errors with Windows 7 which are causing the operating system to crash.  Missing or corrupted files in the computer systems registry memory may be causing the system to hang up regularly.  After carrying out the registry clean, a big improvement in the computers speed and performance will be noted by the computer user.

Due to the complexity of the registry memory it is not advisable to try to carry out the registry clean up manually as making even a tiny error while trying to carry out the clean up would result in causing major damage to the operating system. Other problems thought to be adding to the hang up issue are related to viruses and spyware.  It is thought that malicious files which may be in the system corrupt your computer files and affect the computers performance causing the operating system to hang.  It is advisable to always ensure that the computers virus protection is kept up to date and any updates are installed.  Regular virus scans should be carried out to detect the malware and then delete it.

The computer user having too many programs running at the same time is also thought to be affecting the operation of the operating system.  The more programs that are running at the one time, the more Random Access Memory is being used up, sometimes more than the system can handle.  Try to limit the number of programs that you have open at the one time or if you find it necessary to have many programs open, upgrade the computer RAM.

There can be several reasons due to which the computer hangs. To list a few:

  1. Viruses and Spyware – Malicious and infected files may be residing in your system. These Malwares can corrupt your files and affect your computer’s performance causing Windows 7 to hang and clog. Keep your virus definitions always updated in your antivirus software.
  2. Several programs running at the same time – Running several programs at the same time consumes more virtual RAM (Random Access Memory) than your system can handle Don’t open a lot of applications simultaneously. Limit the number of software and websites currently running to those that are importantly only. Otherwise upgrade your RAM.
  3. Corrupted Windows Registry – The registry contains information and settings Windows 7 references during operation. This database eventually becomes cluttered because of redundant and obsolete entries leaving it corrupted. It is advised then to clean your Windows registry to delete those unwanted entries. A manual clean of registry is not possible though because the registry is the brain of your computer and is somewhat very complicated. A minor change or error in an entry can cause damage to your OS.
