John Brown is a hero or a madman?
John Brown known as American Abolitionist. He always believes that he could free the slaves. He is successor of his father who also opposed to slavery. During the childhood of John Brown, the family moved to Northern Ohio district which is meant for antislavery views. Though he financially unsuccessful and filed for bankruptcy, still he did not prevent to support his beliefs. Accordingly he gave land to fugitive slaves. He also helped to establish the League of Gileadites during 1851 which works to protect the escaped slaves from catchers. John Brown hanged on December 2, 1859 but his trial and execution focused the attention of the moral issue of slavery and leaded to civil war. Many northern people started to speak favorably in respect of militant abolitionist. He is a hero and not madman.
Out of many abolitionists in United States, John Brown becomes one of the most important men who involved in the process of abolishing slavery particularly in North side. It is also agreed by Henry David Thoreau by elevating Brown’s doctrine that every man has a perfect right to interfere by force with the slaveholder to rescue the slave. So Brown made a path to strengthen antislavery movement, beside to attack the slavery. Though the actions are were radical, yet Brown’s cause was heroic. He was not worked to attain the power or respect but his aim to put ends the violation of human rights. His actions in Kansas and Virginia render him as a hero. Until death he is portrayed as the very passionate man. John Brown described as American Hero among other America’s greatest heroes. The attack made by John Brown against Harper’s Ferry was leaded to the outbreak of the Civil War.
John Brown described as hero and some others may describe as madman but the actions taken by him have been observed by entire nation. His determination, commitment and persistence supported the cause of anti-slavery. He led number of slaves to freedom along the tracks of the Underground Railroad. John Brown guided by his friends and belief in god.
He was a promoter of lawlessness in Kansas. He was the first white American abolitionist for the movement of abolition of slavery. He also has been described as the most controversial of all nineteenth century Americans. With John Brown’s antislavery movement leaded to end the American slavery for which it become free Republic followed by Civil war. He was burning sun. John Brown died to save the slaves and hence he is hero.
The attack/raid made by John Brown failed but it contributed to the civil war just in three years. The American still the follow the view of John Brown which indicates that he is not a madman but hero. Brown fed up with Congress’s partiality and southern interests and hence attacked the Federal government
