Blue Omega
We have talked a lot about rare diving watches recently, so why not one more? What we have here is an Omega Seamaster from 1974 that is known affectionately as the “Big Blue” for its blue face and enormous size.
If you’re a fan of esoteric dive watches, vintage Omega, or cult classics from the 1970s, you know the Omega Big Blue. This watch appears to only been made for a very short period of time, as every single example we can find is dated to 1974. Yes, this is around the same time as many other Seamasters were being sold, including the absurdly ridiculous PloProf that we featured here not too long ago. However, this seems to hold a special place in collectors’ hearts for some reason. We have found numerous forum posts about people searching for these Big Blues and we’re definitely proud to have found a great one.The Big Blue was enormous for the 1970s at 44mm, and it’s absolutely loaded with features; it’s a 120m diver, with a chronograph, date window, and even GMT hand. Today, however, we came across a completely untouched Big Blue Omega with its original stickers, hang tags, and boxes. Omega replica watch at our site has attracted many people, I think you are unwilling to miss it.
The massive case is similar to the OMEGA Flightmaster and measures a whopping 44 x 52mm. and is 16mm. thick. This case is in excellent overall condition, without major dings or scratches. The original unidirectional bezel and insert is original and as clean as you’ll ever find! The original screw-down winding crown is present. The OMEGA bracelet has very minor stretch and is in excellent shape as well. The original hands and “sea blue” dial are absolutely in flawless shape!
