Developing an eBook Library
Today with the iPad, Kindle, Nook and other eReaders coming out on the market eBooks are becoming more and more popular. How can you build your ebook library without breaking the bank? Google ebooks is a good place to start. There are books that are available for free in the public domain. When you are at google.com you can just click on the more button and then click on the Google ebooks listing. You will be taken to a page that will list all the ebooks that are available to you.
You are able to search by category. Categories include classics, gardening, humor, mystery, etc. After you choose a category you will see what titles are available in that subject. Be sure that you check the link “Public domain only” on the left hand side of the page. This will only display the ebooks that are free to download. When you find a title you are interested in just click the cover. You will be taken to the book and it will be in a readable format. You can also download the title into your ebook library to read at a later time or when you are not online. Google ebooks is a great way to add free titles to your ebook library.
Once you have a substantial amount of ebooks downloaded you might not think that creating an ebook library is necessary. While it is not absolutely necessary to create a library it is fun and easy to do. In a sense you will create the reading room of your dreams. Shelves filled with the books that you love. Your ebook library can even contain comfy chairs and sofas with tables loaded down with books.
After you have downloaded hundreds of Google ebooks you may discover that you run out of places to put them. Organizing your ebooks is the key to be able to find a title when you want to read it. If you love books and gadgets then you probably have some ebooks downloaded. Maybe you did not really enjoy reading your ebooks on your iPhone due to the small screen. Now that the iPad has come and since the iPad is about the size of a book that is no more an issue! With a good inventory system you are able to incorporate your library of books at home with your ebook library.
With an electronic inventory system you will be able to flag whether the book in a hard copy or ebook format. With software you will be able to keep track of all your books. You can create your own labels and sort your titles however you like. Even if you are not really a fan of the ebook format you should realize just how convenient they are. They are more affordable than most paperback versions of print versions of books. You are also able to download other information and have it stored on your computer or mobile device. You could store the equivalent of a city library on your computer whereas you would not be able to have that many books in your home.
