About the Author: raised in Vernal, Utah, graduated in 2002 from Uintah Secondary school. A Presidential Scholar, she entered Utah State University that autumn for an English major, which includes an emphasis in Literary Studies. Needed her per year to stumble serendipitously into Dr. Mark Damen's Latin 1010 course as well as in 2005 she changed her major to Interdisciplinary Studies, as a way to combine her evaluation of literature with Latin, Greek, and classical history. While an Aggie, Katherine supplemented her four-year term since the Honors Program's chief student advisor with work as an America Reads tutor at Adams Elementary, an Honors Fellow for HONR 2000 Scholars Forum, a Rhetoric Associate, and an Undergraduate Teaching Fellow of the History Department. Katherine launched her fifth and final year at USU that has a summer abroad, studying in Freiburg, Germany, and traveling around a lot of western Europe.After she graduates in May 2007, Katherine intends to move to Baltimore, Maryland, where she's going to teach public school to be a Teach For America corps member. During her two years with Teach For America, Katherine will earn an expert of Arts in Teaching degree from Johns Hopkins University.
